We suspect Eddie howe has been looking at this Celtic team through an analytical eye for weeks at this point.

The data out there and platforms accessible to those who can afford it means the information needed to make educated decisions on the players from afar is available.

One player Eddie Howe will not have much a read on at all is Albian Ajeti.

Ajeti may as well ditch his name at this point and call himself ‘not Ivan Toney’. Such has been the disappointment of Ajeti’s season, more fans have spoken about the player we didn’t sign rather than the man we did land from down south.

Everyone’s demeanour is different on the field and I don’t like to come to sweeping conclusions on the basis of how worked up or excited a player looks – If I did, I’d already be phoning West Ham asking for a refund.

The frontman has looked lost in a side that’s not been coached well.

Ajeti has his strengths but Celtic didn’t play to them. We do have a penalty box striker but this season we’ve seen very little width and more passes into feet than into space.

Ajeti’s future will depend on Eddie’s preference up front. Does he want a mobile striker linking up the play or does he want a focal point, a striker who can be fed the ball and hit the back of the net.

I’m assuming we’ll find out quickly when we find out the type of striker Eddie is after when he does get unveiled as Hoops boss.
