Alexandro Bernabei is on course to sign for Celtic, all going well, the Argentine defender will become Ange’s third signing of the transfer window.
Celtic have had their eye on the 21-year-old for a while now and after lengthy negotiations, a deal has been struck for the left-back to travel to Glasgow.
The transfer fee is being reported differently among several outlets both home and abroad, but one thing many are reporting on is the transfer clause attached to Alexandro’s deal.
Top Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo got the word out that Lanus had negotiated a transfer clause that will see the club grab 10% of Bernabei’s next transfer fee when Celtic sell the player.
Has Celtic Made the Right Call?
It makes sense, any club with a top young talent would want to see some sort of cash windfall if they go on and garner a larger fee in future. Celtic put this into most of their deals to make sure they can get some money on the back end for any player they sell.
It worked out well over the years, Virgil van Dijks clause being one of the bigger fees the Bhoys has landed.
Ange Postecoglou and the Hoops will be unconcerned by any future transfer clause at the moment. The Celtic gaffer will want to get the player into Lennoxtown and help him get up to speed ahead of the new season.
