After four pre-season games Celtic have won two and drawn two, but now comes the competitive games.

With Celtic having to enter the Champions League qualifiers so early it comes smack dab in the middle of their warm up to the new season. This can’t be an excuse though, Celtic face Lincoln Red Imps tonight in a game they should win comfortably over two legs.

The first game in Gibraltar tonight will see Brendan Rodgers take his competitive bow as Celtic manager, something a lot of fans will be tuning in to see.

Most of the intrigue, however, is centered around the new manager and what team and system he will put out against Lincoln. While it’s early in the season and he hasn’t got to know the team exclusively yet he has to pick his very best side in order to progress and get them to gel.

Celtic fans would love to see the likes of Scott Allan and Paddy Roberts be at the forefront of any Brendan Rodgers team but there is also the fear the former Liverpool boss may be more conservative, especially in the early stages of his reign.

Whoever he chooses to put out tonight and whatever system he decides on, Celtic should win with a bit to spare.

Here’s to the start of the Rodgers Revolution.
