Andy Robertson says it’s not so easy for him to support Steven Gerrard like some within the club do because he’s a Celtic fan.

Speaking on Jamie Carragher‘s podcast as cited by Mail Sport, Andy spoke about the Gers boss and how it’s difficult for him given he’s a massive Celtic fan.

‘It’s a difficult situation isn’t it?

‘You come into Liverpool’s training ground. He’s plastered all over the place, everyone loves him, everyone wants him to do well.

‘I want him to do well… but I’ve been brought up as a Celtic fan to not like anything to do with Rangers.’

We know Andy is being polite here but we know there’s no way he wants Gerrard to be a success where he is at the moment.

Celtic are so far behind the league leaders right now it looks inevitable he will enjoy success this season at the expense of Celtic fans.

The bhoys have been the victims of their own down fall. Our season in many ways has felt like a very bad nightmare, poor form in the pitch and very poor decisions off it.

Andy and his Liverpool team-mates are struggling to recapture their best form this term but are sticking in at the moment hoping they can hit a great run of form before the end of the season.

  1. Gerrard is a Liver boy and always will be associated with their club. Like King Kenny. He is loved by both sets of fans. Andy is like most Celtic fans, they still like Slippy, but not during working hours. Sevco fans still don’t rate him either, as until now all the money they have spent has come with the reek of a failure.
