No matter the score, the manager insists that his players continue to push for a goal, and on Saturday, we witnessed that yet again.

At 0-0, with Aberdeen camping in their box, it would’ve been easy for heads to drop, but instead, the players kept pushing and eventually, they got their reward. Callum McGregor received the ball from James Forrest and fired it into the bottom corner, gifting Celtic the lead and, ultimately, the three points.

It’s become common at Celtic; no matter the score, the goals are flying in late in the games. The players have kept their cool and maintained composed in front of goals, and they’ve been rewarded for it.

Ange Postecoglou has talked about the mentality of his players, admitting it’s easy to get frustrated in games like Saturday, when there was nothing the players could do to beat the low block.

He said:[BBC Sportsound]

“It’s easy to get frustrated – to know you’re dominating and missing chances, lose discipline or belief. It never happened. That’s not just today, it’s synonymous with us. It’s why we get goals late.”
