Brendan Rodgers has delivered some great midweek news, revealing that Cameron Carter-Vickers is set to return this weekend after the American defender got the all-clear from a scan.

However, the Irishman did reveal that on top of Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate who are still out, Luis Palma will play no part in the game against St Johnstone and won’t return to the squad until after the international break.”

Rodgers told Celtic TV: “Luis Palma was always going to be after the international break [for a return]@

The Honduran has played 34 times for Celtic this term scoring an impressive 11 goals and grabbing 12 assists. Luis has his critics for sure, but on his day, he can be a real potent attacking threat.

Celtic need all hands on deck when it comes to the SPFL, the bhoys missed the opportunity to go back top two weeks ago when they failed to capitalise on a slip-up by the Ibrox club.

As the season reaches its conclusion, we need all our players fit and ready to contribute, but that’s something we’ve not had in abundance this term. There have been many injuries to key players during Brendan Rodgers return campaign and we’ve been patched up more often than not.

Luis will have to watch from the stands as he recovers from the training ground setback and Celtic fans will be hoping Daizen Maeda can capitalise on his hat-trick against Livingston by putting in more lethal performances like that.

Celtic have St Johnstone on Saturday at Celtic Park before the domestic game takes a backseat for an international break. Upon their return to action, Celtic take on Livingston away before heading to Ibrox in what will likely be a powderkeg tie.

At this time Celtic fans are crossing their fingers and toes that Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate are back alongside Luis Palma.
