CELTIC are looking to sign Preston’s Ben Davies on a pre-contact.
The defender is out of contract in the summer and the Hoops are keen to get a deal done for the player.
Sky Sports reporter, Anthony Joseph has tonight reported Celtic contacted Preston today to let them know their intentions and are trying their best to get the contract done and dusted before other clubs come calling.
Joseph also reports Celtic will be looking to sign the player this month and not wait until the summer if they can get a pre-contract in place first.
Davies, 25, would offer Celtic a much-needed option in defence. The Englishman has pace and has a high tackle success rate.
The bhoys have been toiling in defence and need some regularity to get things working their way again.
Hopefully Celtic manage to stave off any interest and they can get a permanent deal done this month for Ben.
