The Scottish mainstream media gave us exactly SIX hours this evening between the champions winning a whopping 7-0 against St Johnstone and them punting one our star defenders to the Premier League.
Without any quotes or inside information into what they’re claiming, Sun Sport have taken it upon themselves to tell us Brendan Rodgers will now raid Celtic for Kristoffer Ajer in an exclusive.
It was Keiran Tierney at the start of the window, then Callum McGregor shortly after. Now that Leicester have pulled off the sale of the century with Harry McGuire going to Manchester Utd for £85m, the press have looked at what Brendan Rodgers left behind at Celtic in that position – fabricating a story about the Irishman being keen on moving for Ajer with no information whatsoever.
This is par for the course in today’s modern journalism at this point. Ajer had just starred in a 7-0 thrashing of St Johnstone on the opening day of the season so what better way to take the wind out of Celtic sails.
It appears Celtic’s strong start to the season is already bothering some.
Brendan Rodgers has not come in for any of the Celtic players to date and has not mentioned any by name. This is a clear attempt to make a headline.
