Rodgers, who led Celtic to a series of domestic Trebles and an Invincible season during his previous tenure, was announced as the club’s new manager on Monday. His return has sparked a wave of reactions from fans and pundits alike, with Sutton among those voicing their opinions.

Sutton, who played for Celtic from 2000 to 2006 and is now a respected football pundit, acknowledged the mixed feelings among fans regarding Rodgers’ return. The Northern Irishman’s departure for Leicester City in 2019 was met with criticism from some fans, who felt he had abandoned the club mid-season.

Sutton took to Twitter and Tweeted:

Sutton’s comments reflect a broader sentiment among many in the Celtic community, who recognise Rodgers’ coaching prowess and successful track record with the club. Despite the circumstances of his departure, there is a growing sense of optimism that Rodgers can once again lead Celtic to success.

As Rodgers prepares to face the media later this week, the Celtic faithful will be looking forward to hearing his plans for the club’s future. With the backing of figures like Sutton, Rodgers will be hoping to unite the fans and usher in a new era of success at Celtic Park.

  1. At last folk have wised up to the fact that the GB only ever care about themselves and their IRA worship & always have done.
I hope the club finally take action against them and stop the pandering.
