Celtic signed two American defenders towards the end of the January window and immediately sent them out on loan to clubs in the US in an experiment headed up by Scouts and okayed by former boss Brendan RODGERS.

Andrew Gutman headed to Charlotte while Manny Perez moved to North Carolina. This is a new tactic from Celtic, to seek out talent from across the pond and put a deal in place which could see both become Celtic players one day.

For Perez, it’s a dream of his two play on the hallowed surface at Celtic Park and as he goes about improving in the US, he is hoping that day will come.

Answering questions on Instagram from his followers one Celtic fan asked if he was looking forward to playing in front of 60,000 Celtic supporters.

Perez replied –  “Yes, one day the dream will come true.”

At the moment it’s unclear who long either player will spend out on loan with work permits maybe playing their part in any move to bring them to Paradise sooner.

Perez scored his first professional goal recently for North Carolina.
