Brendan Rodgers has been rumoured to be eying a reunion with his former Leicester City player, Daniel Amartey.
Rodgers led the Hoops to back-to-back Scottish Premiership trebles during his first spell at the helm. His imminent return to the Scottish giants, following his sacking from Leicester City in April, is exciting news for every Hoops fan.
According to TEAMtalk, Amartey, the 28-year-old versatile player, who can play both defence and midfield, is being heavily considered by Rodgers as his first signing for Celtic.
Amartey, who is currently unattached after an eight-season-long stint with Leicester City, where he made 145 appearances, could be the start of Celtic’s new winning era under Rodgers.
While negotiations with Turkish clubs are ongoing for Amartey, there is also reported interest from Saudi Arabia. Yet, it’s Celtic that seems to be the most appealing destination for him. The club is reportedly all set to approach his agent, gearing up to secure the Ghanaian’s signature.
