BRENDAN RODGERS has got Celtic fans excited about the newest prospect on the books at Celtic Park.

Speaking in this week’s Celtic View, the Celtic manager believes with hard work and the right attitude Armstrong Okoflex can make the transition from top prospect to top player.

Armstrong signed for Celtic back in July but it wasn’t announced until the final day of the transfer window for some reason.

However, what’s not a mystery is the 16-year-old’s talent.

Armstrong has been coming through the youth system at Arsenal and was offered a football scholarship to continue his progress with the London club. Instead of playing it safe, the midfielder has decided to move to Glasgow and begin a footballing education under Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic coaches.

If you have been paying attention you will already know that Rodgers rewards talented players who put the work in with stints in first team training to get them used to what’s expected of them in training as a first team star.

Okoflex has been part of a fair few Rodgers training sessions since coming in and the Irishman is quietly confident about the player’s ability.

“I’ve seen a lot of Armstrong and I can see that he’s a very talented boy.

“The job for Armstrong, like it is for all really talented players, is making that transition from being a talent to being a top professional.

“He’s come here with a view of hopefully doing that. He’s at a club where he’s going to get an opportunity. You can see his qualities and his talents.

“It’s not easy, he’s only a 16-year-old boy moving up from London. But he’s adapted really well which is good to see and hopefully he’ll be able to play some games at some point soon.
