Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi came off injured in his side’s 6-0 victory over Aberdeen this afternoon. It was a concerning sight for many supporters to see the frontman withdrawn.

Recently, Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on the situation. He said (Sky Sports): “It was a nasty blow for him. He won’t travel with Japan but he’ll stay here and recover.”

From a Celtic point of view, it will be hoped the number eight recovers well. It most-certainly looked like he took a nasty knock and that was shown with the urgency in which the medical staff were brought on to the park.

Not sending Kyogo away to play for Japan in the coming weeks is a wise move from Celtic. It is one that could pay off in the long run as Brendan Rodgers looks to ensure the fitness of the 28-year-old for a crucial run of games throughout the upcoming festive period.
