CELTIC defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is set to play in this month’s World Cup with the USA. The centre-back took a chance on Celtic and vice versa 18-months ago, paying off in a huge way. CCV becoming a title winning defender and now a full international for his country.

Trophies and medals are cool, but Cameron has just got the cherry on top with a personal message from Ted Lasso! That’s right, everyone’s famous fictional American soccer coach penned letters to CCV and the rest of the USA squad ahead of the tournament.

In a brilliant ad campaign, Ted gives each play their very own individual messages which have appeared in all their home towns.

CCV was raised in Essex but spent his summers at Baton Rouge with his basketball playing Dad, Howard Carter. The billboard has appeared in Baton Rouge and the message is so Ted Lasso it’s unreal!

It reads: “Cameron, so let me get this straight. Your dad is a French citizen who met your mother in Greece, raised you in Essex. You summered in Baton Rouge and now are playing for the US Men’s National Team!

“If that’s not the most American thing I’ve ever heard of then I don’t know what is. Okay, maybe Susan and Anthony slam dunking an apple pie, but honestly, y’all are neck and neck.

“That is until you and the boys bring home the glory, then we’ll all be saying ‘look at that Bald Eagle! It’s almost as American as Cameron Carter-Vickers!’ Eagle Enthusiast, Ted Lasso.”

If you haven’t given the Original Apple series a watch yet, we’d encourage you to go and binge it the next chance you get.

While Cameron is in Qatar with the USMNT, his Celtic teammates are in Australia preparing for the Sydney Cup. The bhoys are down under for the week and will come up against Sydney FC and Everton.

There are four Celtic stars in World Cup squads; Maeda, Mooy, CCV and Juranovic.

We’ll be cheering on all four when they take to the field in Qatar. Hoping everyone of them does well and comes back injury free ahead of the second half of the season.

They will most likley rejoin their Celtic teammates in Portugal during the bhoys training camp. Ange is set to put his players through a rigorous mini pre-season to prepare for the gauntlet of fixtures after this World Cup break.
