CAMERON CARTER-VICKERS wore the Celtic armband for the first time in the Champions League on Tuesday night. From a player with six different loans to captaining the first side to win the Champions League in the competition is a great personal achievement.

The defence was great, with Jenz and Carter-Vickers shining bright. The pair were prepared to put their bodies on the line and will be frustrated that the side couldn’t keep a clean sheet.

Both of the goals Celtic conceded were good goals, with no one really at fault for them.

The home side dominated much of the game, but their lack of bravery upfront cost Celtic. No one was willing to take the ball and drive at the opposition, especially after Haksabanovic was taken off.

Carter-Vickers has echoed the thoughts of many fans, admitting despite dominating some of the game, the side needs to be more clinical.

“It is disappointing not to get a result,” he told BT Sports.

“I thought for large parts of the game, we defended quite well, but it is Champions League football. If we take our chances, then maybe the result is different.”

The draw in Poland has come back to bite the Hoops. Despite sixteen shots on goal, Celtic only netted the ball once. It’s something that has to change, especially if we want to compete at the top level.
