Celtic B secured their second consecutive victory in the Glasgow Cup, edging past Queen’s Park with a 1-0 win on Tuesday afternoon.

The match saw the young Celtic side dominate proceedings, with Colby Donovan’s first-half strike earning them the three points.

Following an impressive start to their Glasgow Cup campaign, which was a 3-0 victory over rivals Rangers, the Bhoys were high on confidence.

With the lion’s share of possession and numerous opportunities created, the young Hoops were in control. Daniel Kelly and Rocco Vata, having spent time with the first team, significantly influenced the game’s early stages, creating several chances that tested the Queen’s Park goalkeeper.

The breakthrough came just after the 20-minute mark when Donovan found the back of the net with a well-placed low effort. This goal, Donovan’s first of the campaign, was a just reward for Celtic B’s dominance and set the tone for the rest of the match.

Despite a few chances from the home side, including a notable save from Celtic’s Josh Clarke, the visitors maintained their superiority throughout the 90 minutes. Bruno Davidson and Lenny Agbaire came close to extending the lead, with their efforts either saved or cleared off the line, emphasizing Celtic B’s attacking intent.

The win against Queen’s Park not only extends Celtic B’s winning streak in the Glasgow Cup but also positions them well as they approach the final group stage game against Partick Thistle next month. With two wins from two, the young Hoops are in a strong position to progress in the competition.

Before their next Glasgow Cup fixture, Celtic B will return to league action, facing Berwick Rangers at the Excelsior Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
