Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has provided an exciting injury update for Celtic supporters, revealing that the majority of his squad will return for the leagues restart in just over a weeks time.

The Hoops boss has had very tough luck when it comes to the injury record of his squad, losing key players at different points in the season, such as Kyogo Furuhashi and Jota.

However, speaking to Celtic TV, Postecoglou revealed that he is expecting to have a lot more depth to his squad once they come back after the winter break, with several of his players being back in contention for the domestic action returning.

“They’re all at different stages of their recovery, but they’re all progressing really well.

“Part of the reason we wanted to get the three lads in early from Japan is that we didn’t have the depth needed or the quality to rotate our team. I think we suffered because of that. Quite a few of the players were carrying more load because we didn’t have alternatives.

“They’re all at different stages of recovery, but we expect the majority to be up and running and available when the season restarts. That’ll be great because hopefully, we’ll have the depth to cope.”

This will come as a massive boost to Postecoglou, which will see the former Socceroos boss have a much healthier selection of players for another busy schedule of games when we return.

There is also the added boost of three new additions in Daizen Maeda, Yosuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate to look forward too and add more options in several areas of the park.

It is very much an exciting time as a Celtic supporter, as we look forward to seeing the Bhoys back in action once again. For now, though, we can only hope that Postecoglou is putting the squad through their paces in preparation for the up-and-coming fixtures.
