Josip Juranovic plays a big role for Celtic on the park but he has also revealed that he is as just important behind the scenes at the club.

Ange Postecoglou has cast the net far and wide to bring a number of different players to Celtic from all different backgrounds.

His recruitment has been one of the most important aspects of his tenure but it can be challenging for new players to assimilate with it being key that there is a support network in the background.

Many new faces have came in and hit the ground running which speaks volumes of the culture that currently exists at Celtic under Postecoglou.

When paying tribute to James Forrest after reaching a milestone 100 goals for the club, Juranovic revealed that the Celtic legend had played a part in welcoming him to the club and helping him settle.

The Croatian international has returned the favour and revealed that he played a part in helping fellow fullback Alexandro Bernabei settle into life in Glasgow and at Celtic.

8th October 2022; McDiarmid Park, Perth, Scotland; Scottish premier league football, St Johnstone versus Celtic: Alexandro Bernabei of Celtic has a shot on goal

He played a huge part under Postecoglou last season being deployed at both right and left back giving him a clear understanding of what the former Socceroos boss expects from his fullbacks.

“I’m trying to give him advice about settling in and our style of play, but he doesn’t know English very well but will learn,” said Josip Juranovic as quoted by The Herald.

“But you can see that he’s played a few games and is now doing very well. He made an assist on Saturday, and that’s the most important thing.

“He’s doing well away from the pitch also. He’s a great person, and I know that we will see more good stuff from him this season.

“It’s difficult [to play as a full-back with Celtic] because it’s all about going inside and outside, talking with our number six.

“But it’s because of those demands that we are at Celtic. We want to achieve everything, and we will do that.

“You could see on Saturday that we have real depth in the squad. A lot of players have been waiting for their opportunity, and I think we have shown that whoever is playing, we can damage the other team. That’s the most important thing.

“No matter what changes the manager makes, we are all very comfortable playing with each other. Now we all know what each player is doing. We are just like a really big family here.

“We know what the wingers will do, we know that the full-backs will do. So we know our plan, we listen to the coach, and we carry it out.”

Bernabei will continue to progress and develop at Celtic and having positive influences like Juranovic and others around the 22-year old will only serve to benefit him in the long run.
