ANGE POSTECOGLOU made it clear there was no cause for alarm after both Jota and CCV were left out of the Celtic squad altogether for Sunday’s tie against Kilmarnock.

The Celtic fans were a bit surprised to see the pair not in the matchday squad as Ange hadn’t made any reference to either being injured during his Friday press conference.

After going 12 points clear, Ange has a bit of space and opportunity bring in some of the players looking to make their mark.

The Australian manager brought in Kobayashi from the start as well as Tomoki Iwata and Sead Haksabanovic. They all did well and helped Celtic to a 4-1 victory at Rugby Park.

Speaking before another win, the Celtic manager revealed he didn’t fancy having some of his players out on Killie’s plastic pitch and confirmed there is no long term injuries that could keep them out behind today.

He told Sky Sports: “It’s a combination. There are a couple of boys who this pitch probably doesn’t do a great deal for, so we decided to leave them out.

“We also decided to bring some fresh legs in – Tomoki, Haksa and Yuki have all been working hard in training.”

It’s brilliant news for Celtic fans who already have one eye on the semi final against The Rangers at the end of April. It’s imperative we keep our top players fit and Ange did well today to leave those two out and give some others a deserved run out. There would have been a worry both could be struggling ahead of that game, but Ange has calmed those fears.

As of now both CCV and Jota are fine and should be back in the squad next week against Motherwell.
