Celtic have been handed a boost just over a month before players head off to represent their country in the first batch of international fixtures.
The current Celtic squad is filled with a mix of international quality which can have it’s downside due to travel time which players experience as they jet off for their respected nations.
However, it was confirmed this morning by the [JFA] that both of Japan’s Kirin Challenge Cup matches will take place at the Dusseldorf Arena in Germany.
It is likely that some current Celts will be involved in the matches as Japan warm up for the World Cup with Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda likely to be included as well as Reo Hatate who will be looking to add to his one international cap which he picked up earlier this year against Vietnam.
The kick-off times appear to be convenient for those who live in Japan and also for those who may be watching on from Scotland or elsewhere.
Japan’s first test is up against the USA with it also being likely that Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers could be involved in the match. Following on from that, they will taken on Ecuador four days later.
This is a major boost for Ange Postecoglou as players will already be facing a hectic schedule as the Hoops hope to be challenging on four fronts this season.
