Celtic loanee Conor Hazard’s side HJK Helsinki are into the second qualifying round of the Champions League after a dramatic penalty shootout against RFS.

The second leg was set up nicely after a 1-0 victory in the Finish capital for Hazard’s side but they made hard work of it on the night with the game going all the way as they eventually won 5-4 on penalties.

These qualifiers are always daunting games and all that really matters is progressing to the next round.

FC Midtjylland who Celtic met in the second qualifying round last season will enter the competition as this stage once again alongside other teams such as Olympiacos, Dinamo Zagreb and Fenerbache among others.

The Irish goalkeepers future is yet to be decided but it would not be a surprise to see Hazard make his stay in Finland permanent as he appears to be well-liked in Helsinki.

He was given an opportunity under Neil Lennon and became a cup final hero but struggled to cement his place as first choice keeper.

Joe Hart has made the jersey his own and along with Benjamin Siegrist arriving this summer, Hazard wouldn’t likely get a look in which could mean that he may look to find another club.
