Midfielder Yosuke ‘Guchi’ Ideguchi has been out on loan from Celtic at Avispa Fukuoka in the J. League for the past year. Now, though, his temporary spell with the club is close to coming to an end.

Guchi has made 35 appearances for Avispa to date and he won the Japanese League Cup with the side a few weeks ago, putting in a standout performance in the final. There are just two games left of the Japanese season after which he will return to Glasgow.

At Celtic, the 27-year-old will find it tough to get minutes with the strength of the current squad. He is anticipating coming back to Parkhead, though. When asked about the situation at his parent club, he said (Daily Record): “I don’t know. I’m looking forward to it after the end of the season.”

Manager Brendan Rodgers has yet to see what Guchi can offer in the flesh. He still has two and a half years left on his Celtic deal, but it remains to be seen whether or not he has a long-term future at the club.
