Luis Palma appears to have rediscovered his spark at Lech Poznań, with the Honduran winger producing the sort of attacking form that once made him a fan favourite at Celtic Park.

The former Hoops attacker has now notched six goals and four assists in 18 appearances for the Polish side this season. His most recent exploits have come on the European stage, where he’s racked up four goal involvements in just three UEFA Europa Conference League outings.

Palma scored and assisted during Lech’s dramatic 2-1 defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Thursday, having earlier played a key role in the qualifiers and earlier games. Despite the loss, his individual performances have been a bright spot for the Poznań side, who are pushing to progress beyond the league phase.

The 25-year-old’s early-season form has caught attention beyond Poland. His goal contributions in Europe include a brace against Apollon Limassol and an assist-laden display versus Dnipro, highlighting his growing influence on the Lech attack. While Lech have been inconsistent defensively, Palma’s creativity and ability to produce moments of quality have made him one of their most decisive players.

The winger looks to be enjoying his football again after a difficult end to his Celtic spell. His time in Glasgow was marked by flashes of ability but limited consistency, and a move to Poznań in July offered a chance to reset. That decision now seems to be paying off.

Celtic’s loan arrangement with Lech includes an option to buy, reported to be around €4 million. If Palma’s form continues, the Polish side are expected to trigger that clause before the end of the campaign.

The fee, believed to be well above Lech’s current transfer record, would require the club to double their highest-ever transfer fee, which is currently €2.3 million.

For Celtic, it could represent tidy business, while for Palma, it might mark the start of a sustained run of form and stability that eluded him in Scotland. His resurgence in Poland suggests there’s still plenty of potential in the Honduran winger who once lit up Parkhead on European nights.
