Celtic were linked with a move for George Baldock earlier in the week and it appears the club have made a formal enquiry about the player according to RecordSport.
Baldock, 26, is entering the final year of his Sheffield Utd deal and would be available for a little less than he would have been otherwise.
The report claims the Bramall Lane outfit have received the enquiry but have given Celtic absolutely no encouragement to continue their pursuit of the defender.
Celtic need business done quickly in order for the club to be prepared for the Champions League qualifiers but for Sheffield, they have time and space to assess their entire squad before making any decisions about players leaving the club.
This is where the club are at a disadvantage, Sheffield Utd could very well offload Baldock if they bring in certain targets but until they do they will be reluctant to sell the right back unless the price is too good to turn down.
