From players and managers alike across the globe, Celtic fans and the Parkhead atmosphere always seems to receive a wealth of praise.

Now renowned on social media for his work on YouTube and various podcasts, Ben Foster has yet again hailed Celtic Park and Hoops fans.

The ‘keeper graced the hallowed turf in Glasgow’s east end back in 2008 for Manchester United in a 1-1 draw and lately recalled his experiences from the night on the Yours Mine Away podcast (Daily Record):

“That was some atmosphere there. There are two atmospheres that have genuinely scared me. Parkhead is one.”

Foster then went on to tell a story he was initially told by former Hibs ‘keeper Graham Stack about when the Leith side were hanging on for three points at Celtic Park:

“They were just about to take it into the 90th minute and he knew they were going to lose.

“Because them Celtic fans, they suck the ball into the goal, they are so loud and scary, and he could see all his teammates sh*tt*ng themselves.

“They ended up losing 2-1 and the fans are what made them win, it was a force of nature.”

Undoubtedly, Celtic fans can make a prominent impact whether it be on a European night or domestic encounter, something that gives them an added edge over opposition sides.

Foster, who recently came out of retirement to play for Wrexham until the end of the season, also lauded fellow ‘keeper Joe Hart:

“We are talking Joe Hart in his pomp here, and for me he is the best goalie I have seen up close. He is a genuine cat, springing everywhere, throwing weights around.

“Seeing him in his pomp was a sight to behold. He was incredible, and he is a wicked lad, Joe is absolutely top and you can’t begrudge him anything.”

For Celtic, Hart has been a reliable number one since signing from Spurs back in summer 2022. He may not be at the levels he was a number of years ago yet he is an ample contributor for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The praise for Hart, the Celtic fans and Parkhead’s atmosphere comes as no surprise.
