Andrew Gutman is enjoying another personal honour after being named male athlete of the year for 2018/19 by Indiana University.
The on-loan Celtic star who is yet to actually play for the club thanked the University for the honour as he looks to keep improving so he’s ready for the call when Neil Lennon wants to bring him back to Glasgow.
It’s a prestigious honour and the defender is thrilled with the acknowledgement. Surprisingly, this is Andrew’s first professional season at the age of 22. Until now, Andrew has played collegiate football.
Extremely honored to win this award. Very thankful for everything this program and University did for me. Indiana will always hold a special place in my heart #GoHoosiers https://t.co/07JhPn0WJL

Gutman was one of two American signings in January with the club also picking up right back Manny Perez who was also sent out on-loan.
The club looked to be trying to tap into the US market under Rodgers and Congerton – now both men have left they are on Celtic’s books but they will be unsure what part they have to play in a Neil Lennon regime.
