The fourth Glasgow derby of the 2022/23 season takes place on Saturday at 12.30pm as Celtic and Ange Postecoglou welcome city rivals Rangers to Parkhead.

Hoops fans will be hoping their heroes can put on a show in order to move 12 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, practically wrapping up the title in doing so.

And former Celtic hero John Hartson, who scored 95 goals and registered 36 assists across 178 appearances for the club, reckons it will be party time should the Bhoys taste victory on Saturday (The Go Radio Football Show via Glasgow Times):

“I believe if Celtic win it, and I have refused to say this all season, it’s party day.”

The Welshman also believes it will be extremely tough for Rangers to find a route back into the title race if they are beaten in the east end of Glasgow:

Former Celtic Striker John Hartson

“There is no way back. They [Celtic] will go nine clear [twelve, should they win], plus the goals. But if Rangers win it, they could upset the apple cart slightly.”

Hartson is correct in saying a Celtic triumph would put the title out of Rangers’ grasp although he conceded a Gers victory would cause a slight bit of upheaval. Nonetheless, it is highly unlikely:

“They have to go and perform at Celtic Park with no fans behind them and against a team who are on fire.”

Celtic are huge favourites to win on Saturday. The majority of punters and pundits alike back the Hoops to win but the players just need to back it up on the pitch come lunchtime on Saturday.
