Grammy winning American rapper and singer Macklemore was spotted wearing the iconic green and white hoops of Celtic during a live performance in New York City.

The celebrated artist, known for hits like “Thrift Shop” and “Can’t Hold Us,” chose the brand new Celtic home jersey as his attire for a sold-out performance at the Pier 17 venue last Friday, creating a buzz amongst fans of both the artist and the football club.

Celtic have responded to the video of Macklemore donning their home jersey with open arms, extending a warm invitation to the artist. They posted on X, previously Twitter, “You are welcome to visit Celtic Park anytime, @macklemore! 🍀”

Many famous stars don the Hoops around the world, but none have had their name and the year they were born in on the back of the current season’s shirt.

It will be interesting to see if he jets into Celtic Park in the future to draw the Paradise Windfall.

While Macklemore was representing the Hoops stateside this weekend, the bhoys were back to SPFL duty. They defeated Livingston 3-0 on Saturday afternoon, keeping their unbeaten start to the SPFL season intact.

The bhoys are two points clear of St Mirren and four points clear of third place.
