Celtic are set to take on Dundee Utd on Monday evening.

The fixture list had to be changed after both Glasgow clubs were drawn against the two Dundee clubs away from home.

It meant both ties couldn’t go ahead on the same day and Celtic’s game has been pushed to Monday because the Ibrox club have a Europa League tie on Thursday.

Celtic are hoping to get another victory over Dundee Utd, but it won’t be easy. Nir Bitton knows all too well the challenge that awaits Celtic at Tannadice.

Last time out at Celtic Park, the Israeli was sent off during a tense game between the two sides. It would be a 96th-minute winner by Celtic that would see the Hoops grab the three points.

Nir spoke about the game and claimed he didn’t deserve to be sent off. Also citing the bizarre decisions that are regular in the Scottish Premiership.

“First of all I don’t think it was a red card, you know we have seen some crazy decisions in this league,” Bitton told The Herald.  “It is a game of football and we have seen a lot of times when teams have won games with ten players, even nine players.

“If I had stayed on the pitch I don’t know if we would have won the game so maybe my red card was better for the team.

“I will be honest with you having been here nine years this club is always wanting to win. There is no time to settle in or take your time.  As soon as you sign for this club there is a big expectation on you. Everyone expects you to win games and everyone expects you to compete for titles, trophies.

“When the gaffer signed we all knew it would be a tough start because a lot of new players came in but we have improved a lot in this time. We are a good place and hopefully it will continue.”

Celtic want to book another date at Hampden and a win against Dundee Utd would be enough to see them into the semi-final and hopefully then into a final.

After winning the League Cup in December, this team are craving more silverware.
