Kuhn, who joined Celtic on a five-and-a-half year deal for £3 million, initially struggled to win over the fans with his early performances, leading to some criticism from the Celtic faithful.

However, the weekend’s match marked a significant turnaround for Kuhn, as he seized the opportunity to impress in the starting lineup due to team injuries and suspensions. From the outset, Kuhn showcased his potential, earning praise for his energetic display, skilful runs, and a keen eye for a pass. His performance was highlighted by a crucial assist and his overall contribution to the game, which didn’t go unnoticed.

Andy Halliday, speaking on Clyde 1 Super Scoreboard, named Kuhn the best performer of the weekend, choosing him over Maeda despite the latter’s hat trick. “I’ve been having an inner battle with myself over the past thirty minutes because I can’t believe I’m not going to choose a guy who got a hat trick, but I’m going to go with Nicolas Kuhn.

“He’s come under a lot of scrutiny, and quite rightly so. But, yesterday, he was excellent. It’s maybe too early to say he’s arrived as a Celtic player, but he was really infectious in terms of his energy throughout and he added to that with some quality as well.

“A fantastic ball for the first goal but his overall contribution to the game was very good.”

Kuhn’s standout performance against Livingston suggests a turning point for the player at Celtic, offering hope that he can continue to build on this momentum and solidify his place in the team.
