The horrific news this morning that our outgoing CEO and his family were subject to a heinous firebomb attack at their home has rightfully received widespread condemnation.

Peter Lawwell and his family slept at their home when they were targeted in the early hours. Seemingly, Peter’s car was the target but the house quickly caught fire and the Lawwell’s had to evacuate.

It’s an outrageous and horrific act of violence and destruction aimed at a custodian of our football club.

We can’t fathom what would motivate anybody to have done this.

Celtic released a statement this morning confirming and condemning what has happened.

A spokesperson for Celtic said:

“We can confirm that significant damage has been caused to Peter Lawwell’s house and vehicles there, following an explosion and fire early this morning, forcing the family to leave the property.”

“Clearly, Peter’s family are extremely shaken and shocked by these terrible events, but thankfully all are safe”

“We understand that Police Scotland are currently undertaking a criminal investigation.”

“Peter and his family will of course receive the full support and care of everyone at the Club.”

We hope that Peter and his family are doing ok after such a horrifying ordeal.

The CEO is set to step down from the club at the end of June after 17 years in the role.

We hope whoever has done this will be brought to justice.

  1. Can think of 1 group of zombie supporter’s that would use this to distract from the carnage they caused in Glasgow recently.
