As the transfer window draws to a close, Celtic are showing their intent to bolster their attacking options with a bold £3.5 million bid for Aris Thessaloniki’s star winger, Luis Palma. [MailSport]

The 23-year-old Honduran international, with an impressive 16-goal tally in Greece, has caught the eye of many, with rivals The Rangers also in pursuit as a potential replacement for Ryan Kent.

Palma’s dazzling form has not only sparked interest across the Scottish Premiership but has also attracted attention from clubs such as Watford and Anderlecht across the European continent.

The move for Palma comes at a critical time for Celtic, who are on a quest to fill the void left by Jota’s £25 million move to Saudi Arabia. With wages reportedly a major obstacle for moves for Wolves winger Daniel Podence and Newcastle’s Ryan Fraser, manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to identify affordable, yet impactful talent to complete his squad.

Celtic’s ambitious plans for this transfer window already include the acquisition of six players, including promising talent Maik Nawrocki. However, despite this activity, concerns linger over the creative force within the team. Apart from Nawrocki, the other signings are seen more as fringe players or works in progress with regards to the first team.

The recent loss to Kilmarnock exposed Celtic’s current shortcomings in creativity, especially against a stubborn low block. While Maeda’s pace and Abada’s timing add valuable attributes, neither seems to possess the consistent creative flair to break down stubborn defences.

The potential addition of Palma could be a significant step in addressing this issue. Renowned for his ability to beat defenders and create opportunities, Palma’s signing could inject the much-needed creativity Celtic fans are yearning for.
