Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers is facing an uncertain immediate future after being substituted at half-time during Sunday’s match against Aberdeen due to a hamstring issue.

The club has yet to provide an official update on the severity of the injury or an estimated timeframe for his return to action.

Carter-Vickers’ absence was apparent on Friday as the team trained in preparation for their upcoming trip to Kilmarnock in the Viaplay Cup on Sunday. CCV was not pictured in training with the team, as many fans expected.

The American centre-back has been a key figure in Celtic’s defence since his arrival, and his potential absence could pose a significant challenge for manager Brendan Rodgers as he seeks to navigate a busy fixture schedule.

Hamstring injuries can vary significantly in their severity, with recovery times ranging from a few days for minor strains to several months for more serious tears.

Stephen Welsh was the centre of attention after he signed a new 4-year deal with the club on Friday. Argentine Bernabei was also pictured training hard, as he looks to make his first competitive appearance of the season, and put his alarm troubles behind him.

As we reported earlier, Alistair Johnston had returned to full training, building up to his return from injury, after missing pre-season and the start of the season. Sunday will likely come too soon for the Canadian, but over the next few weeks, he’ll be building up to full match fitness.
