Brendan Rodgers has confirmed to CeltsAreHere that injured trio CCV, Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda will play no part in Celtic’s final Champions League game of the season despite all three being pictured on the training field.

The Bhoys take on Feyenoord in matchday six of the Champions League with Celtic already slotted to finish last in the group.

Brendan Rodgers doesn’t want to rush any players back for what is essentially a dead rubber.

Reo is just back and will be slightly away from being considered for squad duties. Maeda is very close to a return and CCV should be ok for Saturday which is a much more important tie against Hearts.

CCV missed the Kilmarnock defeat at the weekend but a scan on his knee showed no signs of any long term ill effects, Rodgers will want to manage the defender through this period of games before we get to the winter break.

It leaves either Nat Phillips alongside Liam Scales in defence or a reprieve for Gustaf Lagerbielke. There will be no Maik Nawrocki in the squad because he wasn’t registered for the competition.

  1. No point sending any 1st team players out, rest them and give the guys who aren’t first choice a chance too shine.
We are poorest team in the group, so it’s just like a friendly with nothing to compete for.

  2. Phillips was playing alright but tiredness and bouncy castle pitch can’t trust the bounce of it but won all his ariel duels largerbielke thought was going to be the one but after been sent off lost a but of confidence hopefully be back Phillips looks slow just a personal view Welsh is the other well we out of Europe but we have an appalling record in this I must say we have had no luck but we haven’t the worst record seems scottish media do not support Celtic_fc_1888 in any form it is Scotland shame but they wouldn’t want any other team in Scotland in it cause the would get trounced there is no team spl that would do any better than Celtic in this tournament they are there cause there scittish champions and are representing spl but our media like to highlight there downfall
