Treble winning boss Ange Postecoglou is on the brink of a move from Celtic to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Celtic faithful, are grappling with the impending departure of the Australian – something that seemed unfathomable just a few weeks ago.

However, Celtic have had to move quick and have now reportedly negotiated a fee of £5m to release Ange from his Parkhead deal. See here for Ange’s contract status.

This hefty sum, specifically for the manager, is set to be directly channelled into the recruitment of Celtic’s new boss. The Hoops support, while finding the Australian’s exit tough, will be keenly observing the developments as the club seeks to fill the void left by the former Socceroos coach.

However, it’s important to note that the £5m fee does not extend to any other coaches. If Postecoglou wishes to bring along John Kennedy or any other member of his backroom staff to Spurs, additional negotiations will be necessary, as reported by SunSport.

Fresh from securing a treble victory on Saturday, the 57-year-old is expected to be named the new Spurs boss by Tuesday. This move marks a significant milestone in Postecoglou’s career, a shot at the Premier League that he has been waiting for his entire career.

The task that lies ahead for Ange is far from straightforward. Spurs finished 8th last season, a position that left the club’s supporters disappointed. The challenge of elevating the club from this position is a daunting one, but those familiar with Postecoglou’s career know that he is not one to back down from a challenge.
