Celtic’s new home kit for the upcoming season has been prematurely unveiled online.

The leaked image of the new design, complete with Adidas’ signature black detailing, has sparked considerable debate amongst the Celtic community, with some fans claiming it’s a deviance too far from the beloved green and white Hoops tradition.

FootyHeadlines leaked what is possibly the worst shirt in Celtic’s history on Monday.

Unquestionably, the most controversial feature of the new design is the unexpected stained glass effect on the green hoops. While some could argue it brings a unique, artistic spin to the kit, others are less convinced. Many die-hard fans have voiced their dissatisfaction, branding it a too radical reinterpretation of our iconic Hoops and even going as far as declaring it ‘the worst they’ve ever seen’.

Adding to the traditionalists’ grievances, the typically white Adidas stripes and logo have been rendered in black – a departure from Celtic’s traditional colour palette. This stark contrast to the green and white has left many questioning whether the Hoops’ identity is being diluted rather than enhanced.

The symbolism of stained glass windows in theory is a nice tough, but just not when it’s on the shirt like it is.

The kits, critics argue, should stand as a beacon of the team’s identity and history, not an experiment in art history.

The new kit appears to be a bold gamble from Adidas, pushing the envelope on design, and arguably straying too far from the safe shores of tradition. While innovation can indeed be a breath of fresh air, it’s essential to remember that the Hoops’ traditional green and white is not merely a kit, but a treasured symbol of pride and identity for the fans.
