JOSIP JURANOVIC is set to leave Celtic this January, with many clubs interested in luring the 27-year-old after an impressive World Cup display, especially after his performance against Brazil.

It’s no longer a question of if the player leaves; it’s how much will Celtic receive for him and where will he head to?

On Wednesday night, the Daily Record published an article that detailed that Italian club Torino had an approach knocked back by Celtic. The Serie A side has previously spent £8.5 million on a player, and to date, it’s their record fee.

The tabloid reports that Celtic are looking for at least double the £8.5 million Torino have previously forked out. That would see Celtic get £17 million with some additional add-ons and so on.

For a player in their prime, on excellent form on the world’s biggest stage, Celtic should be looking to break the record fee that they received from Kieran Tierney, especially when you consider Juranovic has a contract until 2026.

It’ll be interesting to see what the club does receive in January for the player, with a potential bidding war on the Horizon.

  1. Full marks to Juranovic. While he is still very much a Celtic man, he deserves the big move out of the daily bigotry and anti-Celtic movement and corruption in Scotland.
He has been brilliant for us, Mr. Consistent, and with the greatest respect to Lustig and a couple of others, the best right back since the player he most reminds me of, Danny McGrain. All this while never having a bad game.
I wish him well when he goes, whether it be January or later.
He should be on the biggest stage.
    Hail Hail

  2. Aye a real Celtic man, been here for about 18 months!
I wish him all the best but forget the nonsense about being a Celtic man.
He’s a professional footballer from abroad who has used Celtic as a stepping stone just as we have used him as a money making device.
Good luck to him, he’s been excellent. Sutton is right, should be looking for £25m minimum but Lawwell always sets his valuation too low
