Celtic winger Jota posted an emotional message on his Instagram on Tuesday night, over 24 hours after the manager who brought him to Celtic, Ange Postecoglou, left for Spurs.
The Celtic superstar has had a fantastic season and helped Ange and the club clinch the treble before the Australian headed south.
The former Celtic manager especially loved his wingers when it came to the potent attacking football he liked to play.
Jota came in on loan during Ange’s first season and was signed permanently last summer.
Both men were emotional on the pitch after the Scottish Cup win at Hampden, embracing each other at full time.
Now that Ange to SPurs is confirmed, Jota sent his thanks to the former Hoops boss.
Celtic are now on the hunt for their next manager, who Jota will play under next term.
There has been a lot of focus over the past 24 hours on how many players might want to leave the club this summer. While every player has a price, Jota is on a long-term contract. If he were to leave Celtic before the start of the new season, it would take a truckload of cash for the board to part with one of their star performers.
It’s going to be an interesting summer.
