Celtic put in a request to the Scottish Government this week to ask for more fans to be allowed to the Champions League tie on Tuesday after Level 0 weeks meant only 2000 fans would be allowed in the ground.

This was open to any club or sporting event requesting more on a case by case basis – so Celtic have asked for around 18k to be allowed in to watch the game.

The decision was expected yesterday, but we’re still waiting on the government’s decision.

RecordSport report the club are expecting another delay and might not know the outcome until Saturday – three days before the game.

The same report says Dominic McKay is confident Celtic’s safety procedures are very well put together Celtic should be afforded this request.

However, we have seen this story play out before. Hampden has had 12k crowds for the Euros, the rugby got 16k, Celtic should be allowed a sizeable crowd that can safely get in and out of the game for now.
