JOHN HARTSON has put Charlie Nicholas in his place and claimed the former Celtic player is ‘at it’ for Charlie declaring Scott Brown isn’t a Celtic legend.

The Welshman was in disbelief at the comment but reaffirmed a lot of peoples opinion by claiming the pundit is just doing it to noise people up or get attention.

John lists Scott’s accolades as a Celtic player and anyone who says that’s not what a Celtic legend looks like needs to find another sport to talk about.

Nicholas has constantly harped on the negative for years when Celtic hoovered up everything in Scotland. Now we’re going through a poor period, Charlie is having to go to extreme lengths to differentiate himself from the pack.

Hartson isn’t having it:

“I think Charlie’s at it. What have you got to do to become a legend? He’s made over 600 appearances for Celtic. He’s won 10 league titles, 22 trophies and he captained the quadruple Treble in the last four years.” John Hartson told Go Radio.

“I just don’t know where Charlie is coming from there, I really don’t. I think he’s just trying to noise people up.”

Scott Brown will play his final game at Celtic Park a week on Saturday. There will be no fans on the terraces to wave him off. Instead, the club has asked for supporters to drop off banners and anything else that can be hung around the stadium on game day to celebrate our legendary captain.

It’s going to be a profound moment when the whistle goes at the end of this season.

Some Celtic fans simply don’t know a Celtic team without Scott Brown and the rest of us just can’t remember!
