CHRIS SUTTON has called out the Scottish Government’s response to the latest Scottish football virus breach after Celtic’s city rivals were commended for action taken after two players actively broke the rules.

This was in sharp contrast to Celtic and Aberdeen’s public dressing down. Some are trying to differentiate the breaches, citing the players didn’t take to the field after breaching. However, that’s not what Celtic were punished for by the government and forced to sit out two games.

Celtic brought the hammer down on Boli Bolingoli swiftly after they had caught wind of the incident, the same as our city rivals, but nobody inside the Scottish government was impressed, but they are this time around?

Chris Sutton was not having it and it smacks of double standards at time when Celtic repeatedly seem to be getting hit with one thing after another.

“First of all the players, what a couple of clowns they are” Sutton told RecordSport.

What has baffled me, absolutely baffled me, is the Scottish Government commending Rangers on that yet with Celtic and Aberdeen, the Scottish Government rounded on them. All this yellow card stuff and what have you? It’s remarkable how they’ve changed their tune.

“Most people across Scotland will find that as a real head scratcher, but a lot of things that have happened up there have been like that.”

Celtic are still trying to make up one of their missed games as result of the Scottish government intervention. It’s shockingly poor from a Celtic point of view and we’re surprised we haven’t heard anything from our CEO on the issue.
