CHRISTOPHER JULLIEN posted then deleted an image taken from the inside of an airplane after take off on Tuesday evening sparking rumours his Celtic career is coming to an end.

The defender was in training on Monday when the cameras were allowed in to watch some of the bhoys get put through their paces by Ange Postecoglou and coaches.

After the now deleted post went out, SunSport is now reporting the player looks set to leave Parkhead shortly.

Bundesliga club Schalke and Ligue 1 sides Rennes and Lorient are all said to be keen on the 29-year-old’s signature. With the paper claiming a £1.5m bid has been tabled by Lorient.

Chris has not had the dream return to injury he dreamt of at Celtic. After spending a year out of the game, when he was ready to come back, Ange Postecoglou chose only to call on the defender once; a cameo against Raith Rovers.

The Frenchman was rarely in the matchday squad and it was clear Ange was not keen on using the the Neil Lennon signing.

Chris stirred things up at the end of last season when he revealed he wants to play regular first team football and would move away to get it.

Speaking to GOAL France in May, the defender said: “I still have a year of contract, and I’d like to continue playing here, but my priority is to be on the pitch.

“If the conditions do not change, it is certain that on my side the door will be open to continue my career elsewhere at a club where the coach would be happy to rely on my qualities.”

Deleted Jullien Post.

Chris was a terrific signing and a real staple of Neil Lennon’s second time in charge of the bhoys.

The injury during the lockdown season has crushed his Celtic career. Timing can be everything in football, had he been fit last summer when Ange first came in, I wonder if things would be different if the Celtic manager had Jullien from the beginning.

It will be interesting to see what fee Celtic might get for the centre-back if he does go.
