It has been rumoured for some time now but today Celtic have confirmed the club have entered into a five year deal with Adidas.

This means from next season, the team’s kits and replica kits along with training gear etc will be designed by the major sports brand.

Celtic are just about to finish up their five year deal with New Balance which has been more miss than hit over the piece.

Many Celtic fans were desperate to see the club get Adidas as they’ve never been Celtic’s kit manufacture before.

The possibilities and the design concepts have been floating about for some time now.

The deal is now a reality and we’ll soon see an Adidas made Celtic kit.

Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell ” Lawwell told the Celtic site.: “We are delighted to enter this new, long-term partnership with adidas, one of the world’s leading sports brands. We warmly welcome adidas to the Celtic Family and look forward to an exciting and successful partnership.

“We know through our discussions with adidas that they, as a prestige brand, were eager to be associated with a Club of Celtic’s stature and proud history –  to be connected to the passion and commitment of our supporters and to Celtic’s wider vision and values.”

We could see a new kit as early as May. Usually the new Hoops top is out before the end of the season. We’re not sure if that can happen in this case until The New Balance deal has ran out.

The figures behind the deal are not being mentioned but there’s no mention of a record breaking deal this time around.
