DAVIE MOYES has made the claim Leicester had Brendan Rodgers lined up for some time before the manager eventually made the move in February.

The former Everton and Manchester United boss told BeInSports live on air the former Celtic manager knew about the move for some time before it came to fruition.

It would explain the midnight flit and why Brendan was already in Leicester by the time we knew what had happened. It’s old news for a lot of people now and we’re not interested in dredging up the recent past at this point but it’s an interesting little tidbit from Moyes on the move.

“I’d heard he’d been lined up for that job quite a long time before he got it.” Moyes said live on air as cited by SunSport.

“I think Brendan was always eventually going to come back. He did a great job at Celtic.”

Moyes went on to talk about Celtic as a club and how they would manage in the Premier League after they had the funding in place to compete in the league.

“Celtic, for the people who don’t know Celtic, are a really proud club with supporters worldwide.

“Arguably one of the biggest clubs in the world Celtic.

“And I think, if they were in the Premier League – like Glasgow Rangers – they’d be certainly mid-table if not better because of their support base, once they got the funding.”

Not like it’s ever going to happen – wasted words at this point. Celtic will one day have to find a new league to play in but it won’t be the Premier League.
