Dermot Desmond and Peter Lawwell more than most have a bloody nose this evening.
The club have put out their version of events that lead to the collapse of a deal everyone, including ourselves thought was done weeks ago.
To allow Eddie Howe not to sign any sort of agreement in principle and carry on down the road until now is nothing short of a disaster. The club said they acted in good faith, that very well might be the case but it’s 100% amateur from Desmond and the outgoing CEO.
The reason we’re not lumping Dominic McKay into this at the moment is that we’ve been told all the soon to be new CEO has been doing is shadowing the current man in charge.
McKay has had little scope to do anything of note, other than attending a few fan forums.
Desmond has always prided himself on being an astute businessman and has delivered two blockbuster appointments before in Martin O’Neill and Brendan Rodgers.
This time he’s allowed Celtic to go down a rabbit hole that could set the club back years.
There’s nothing substantial in place for the new season and we need a lot of work to that first team.
If we’re deep in negotiations with another manager, that’s great, but they’re coming into the club so cold and will have to assess everything from top to bottom in an unacceptably short amount of time.
Next season feels over before it even begins.
If he wants to salvage this mess Dermot Desmond NEEDS to go for Davie Moyes or Sam Allardyce, if the club go for another cheap option like Alex Neil, the fans will be in open REVOLT.

I’m not looking forward to it so much now, anyone coming in now, be it player or manager, has nowhere near enough time to settle before the CL qualifiers

Micky mouse board of directors, club is run worse than a pub team and that includes DD. There was obviously something wrong way back for there to be no written agreement, a total embarrassment, made to look a laughing stock by howe.
