Celtic have announced the signing of Kyogo Furuhashi on a four-year deal – subject to international clearance.

This move didn’t even get the chance to be a rumour before Kyogo’s current club confirmed the deal early this morning and Celtic have followed it up with an announcement this morning.

It’s thought Celtic have had to announce earlier than planned because the Japanese club reported on the deal from their social media.

Ange Postecoglou spoke to the Celtic website about the transfer:

“We are delighted to bring Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic. He is a player of real quality and clearly someone I know well.

“I think he will add something special to our squad and I am sure the way he plays will excite our supporters. We look forward to welcoming him to Celtic.”

Kyogo is the top goal scorer in the J-League for Visse Kobe and will now start set to start his Glasgow adventure.

The Hoops are in desperate need of some fire power and the striker looks to be someone who could help the club get among the goals.

Celtic going about their business swiftly for a change is refreshing. Now fan media will be doing their own scouting reconnaissance on the front man to see just exactly what type of player we have.

  1. So Japanese two.Not really because I watched Kiki Masuno play with all the other Celtic rejects whilst they were in the reserves (under Wullie McStay/Danny McGrain, then Neil Lennon) when strapon was managing the Premier team (badly but he survived) So here is hoping that good talent, no matter what age or fitness gets a fair go at the Hoops. M’on the Kangas Angie.
