CELTIC could be set for a tidy windfall in the coming weeks as clubs start making their move for Moussa Dembele.

The Lyon star has continued his progression at the French club and now has sever admirers in the Premier League. RecordSport report that Lyon have turned down a €40m bid from Chelsea for the former Celtic star.

If that’s the case and the French club are looking for much more than this offer, it means a cash windfall for Celtic if he does go. The club have been selling their biggest stars for years now for a bumper fee but also a sell-on clause. It worked out well with Virgil van Dijk not so long ago. The Record are reporting Celtic have a 10% clause but this hasn’t been confirmed and it could be more.

Celtic are in the market for a few players and if the unexpected cash came into the coffers, it would help strengthen the team for the second half of the season.

Celtic are sitting top of the league at the moment but only by virtue of playing a game more.

  1. QUite a deliberately misleading headline, making some think that the club is in high alert for another club bidding £40k for a Celtic player . But I guess when you think your a real journalist you start using the same methods as they do sensational headlines.
