ODSONNE EDOUARD has had a steady start to the season since taking on a new role at the club.

With the Celtic manager’s initial idea to pair him with countryman Moussa Dembele up-front at the start of the season in tatters, it was up to Rodgers and Edouard to adapt.

The player is always going to be under the spotlight in Glasgow for the amount of money paid for the Frenchman.

Breaking Celtic’s transfer record which hadn’t been touched for over fifteen years is going to put pressure on the player breaking that record.

However, if you ask Edouard if he’s feeling the heat, you will hear a man very much confident of his own ability and someone who can handle the pressure.

“What pressure?” Eddie told the Celtic View.

“I am naturally a very relaxed and calm person. The pressure does not get to me. I know it’s there but it doesn’t negatively affect me.”

“I know how to deal with it and try to work it to my advantage”

If ever there was an example of this was the game at Ibrox last season with Celtic down to 10 men, the French striker looked like the calmest man in the stadium as he drifted past defenders and floated the ball into the back of the net scoring the winner.

His calm nature has seen the player score some memorable goals for the club so far and the striker was back on the scoresheet domestically before the international break.

Although Celtic suffering a second half collapse in Salzburg – the striker also scored a fantastic goal against the Austrian Champions.

Edouard’s ability is there, he just needs to do it consistently.
