Former Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko sported some rather familiar threads in his Instagram account overnight that has many Celtic fans praising the Danish defender.
Erik was pictured with his young family wearing a retro Celtic jersey from the early 2000s. The Houston Dynamo player dawning the famous hoops with a certain Henrik Larsson’s name on the back.
Erik has never hidden his love of Celtic since his stint at the club. The defender was part of Brendan Rodgers’ first season where the bhoys became invincible treble winners. He was used sparingly by Brendan Rodgers after that and moved back to Midtjylland on loan and then permanently.
Erik’s had great success in his career and continues to show what he can do in the MLS.
There was talk of a Celtic return when Ange Postecoglou took over. There were talks between the club and the players agent, but in the end a move didn’t materialise.
Erik is part of a long line of players who come to the club and end up leaving a lifetime supporter. Once Celtic gets into your veins it keeps you coming back.
He might not have been the fleetest of foot but he rarely let us down. Eric’s a Bhoy forever.
