Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen has revealed that his side are having to ‘train differently’ ahead of next months Europa Conference League tie against Celtic.

The Norwegian champions are due to travel to Glasgow on the 17th of February to face Ange Postecoglou’s side for the first leg of the conference league knockout tie.

Their preparation for this one has been slightly different to Celtic’s, with the Norweigan league currently not in action and Bodo/Glimt only recently starting their pre-season programme ahead of the new campaign.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Knutsen opened up on his sides training camp in Spain whilst stating his excitement for the up-and-coming European clash.

“Now we are past the first training week, and now we go into the normal match cycle and will train with high intensity before we enter the next match. We work hard to make progress every single day. The most important thing is to deliver high-quality today and then think about tomorrow.

“We have two games against Celtic that come early in the season. It is incredibly fun and gives us a huge boost. But then we also have to train differently. When we call it “match camp”, it means that we go straight into combat and get a normal combat cycle.

“It is incredibly exciting considering that they are in season and we are in the run-up, but we really have little focus on the match. It is everyday training that is important now.”

With the majority of focus in recent months being on domestic action, it is an exciting prospect to see the European knockout tie coming to Parkhead this coming month.

Bodo/Glimt are known for being an impressive and up-and-coming side in the last few seasons, so it should prove to be an entertaining fixture.

Of course, the focus remains on league action until the 17th of February, when the Norwegian side travels to Glasgow. However, it will be interesting to see how Bodo/Glimt’s preparations have gone after a few months without action.
